It was an important win for the Dutch driver, with Qatar being the penultimate round of the season.

Race Report
Verschoor started the race from reverse grid pole, but lost out to the quick starting Joshua Duerksen, who took the lead on lap one.
Behind them, Rafael Villagomez was passed by F2 rookie Nikola Tsolov for third.
Tsolov is one of four F3 graduates racing this weekend, along with Martinius Stenshorne, Laurens van Hoepen and James Wharton.
After losing the lead early on, Verschoor closed right up to the back of Duerksen and re-took the lead on lap four.

On lap 14, the two Tridents of Van Hoepen and Wharton made contact at turn one, with Van Hoepen being spun round and left stranded in the gravel, bring out the safety car.
With 14/23 laps completed, several drivers came in for a change of tyres, including Kush Maini.
The Indian driver pulled over on lap 16, after something presumably went wrong with his pit stop.
Racing resumed on lap 17 with Verschoor still leading Duerksen and Tsolov who looked set to take a debut podium.
Further behind, the drivers that pitted were struggling to get through the traffic, with the soft tyres not providing the level of grip that was expected.
Unfortunately for them, racing was paused again on lap 20 after Cian Shields spun all on his own which brought out a second safety car just four laps from the end.
When the track was cleared, there was just enough time to get one more racing lap in.
Verschoor and Duerksen held position, but third place Tsolov was coming under attack from Villagomez, who went round the outside of turn 1 to get side-by-side with his rival.
The two made contact, with Villagomez getting passed Tsolov who went into the gravel and dropped out of the points, denying him a debut F2 podium.
Results
Championship leader Leonardo Fornaroli finished sixth to bag himself a couple of points and extend his advantage over his closest rival Jak Crawford who finished eighth.
Verschoor’s win sees him move up to third ahead of Luke Browning who’s had a disappointing weekend so far.
With this being the penultimate round of the season, Fornaroli could seal the title tomorrow, and has a great chance of doing so starting from pole position.
