After back-to-back wins in Formula 1, the Redbull driver continued his winning ways at one of the toughest tracks in the world.

Fast, long, and dangerous. The Nürburgring in Germany is one of the most famous tracks for motor-racing anywhere in the world.
It makes sense then that reigning F1 champion Max Verstappen, who seemingly lives and breathes motorsport, would want to race there at some point.
And he did, competing in round nine of the Nürburgring Endurance Series, which was a four-hour race around the Nordschleife.
HOW DID HE GET HERE?
The Dutchman’s first taste of this legendary track came back in May, between the Miami and Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. He was testing a Ferrari 296 GT3, the same car he drove today, and was apparently right on the pace.
At the time, it was rumoured that Verstappen had broke the lap record, and while no official times were released, he later confirmed this to be true.
THE RACE
Verstappen lined up in third in the number 31 Ferrari, and out-braked the pole-sitter to take the lead at the tracks sharp first corner.
From there he never looked back, building up a lead of more than one minute during his stint.
British driver Chris Lulham, who drivers for Verstappen’s own team in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance cup, as well has his sim-racing team Redline, took over for the second stint.
Lulham continued to control the race, bringing the car home to give Verstappen his first non-F1 win since his time in European Formula 3 in 2014!

“I don’t think I made any major mistakes during the first two stints. Winning here for the first time is super”, said Verstappen.
“We had a bit of bad luck in qualifying, but in the race everything with the traffic worked out fine. I think I didn’t make any major mistakes in those two stints.”
“And to win here on my very first attempt, that’s just fantastic.”
