The Dutch driver won this mornings F2 feature race to take a narrow lead in the standings as we reach the halfway point in the season.

Race Report
Pole-sitter Leonardo Fornaroli got a good launch to maintain the lead as Verschoor made his way up to second place at the start.
Lap one saw two retirements in the form of Gabriele Mini and Ritomo Miyata, both of whom came into the pits at the end of the lap with technical issues plaguing both cars.
The race would settle down for a few laps before the leaders made their pit stops, with Victor Martins under-cutting Verschoor by pitting a lap earlier.
Race leader Fornaroli stayed out an extra lap which proved costly, as he came out behind Verschoor and Martins who was now leading the drivers on the traditional stagety.

Fornaroli’s day would go from bad to worse, as he was passed by Pepe Marti and championship leader Alex Dunne, who was now trying to limit the damage as his championship rival Verschoor was ahead of him.
Speaking of Verschoor, he had now closed right up to the back of Martins, and on lap 15 he managed to pass the French driver round the outside of turn four to take the net race lead.
Martins continued to struggle, and on lap 23 he was passed by Alex Dunne who now had his championship rival in his sights, just two second up the road.
With the second half of the race now well underway two more retirements would follow in the shape of Amaury Cordeel and Cian Shields, who both suffered technical issues.

With 10 laps left the drivers on the alternative strategy began coming in for their stops, with Sebastian Montoya coming in from the race lead on lap 31.
Verschoor maintained a comfortable gap to Dunne as the battle for the final spot on the podium ramped up, with Martins now coming under pressure from sprint race winner Marti.
The Spanish driver tried to get passed on lap 35 but made contact with Martins, allowing Fornaroli to pass both of them for third and earning himself a ten second time penalty in the process.
His teammate, Arvid Lindblad, wasn’t fairing any better, as he too got a ten second penalty for and Incident with Oliver Goethe on the final lap which left the German driver stranded in the turn three gravel.
While that was happening, Richard Verschoor managed to fend off his championship rival to win the feature race, with Dunne coming home in second to limit the damage, and Fornaroli in third having started the race from pole-position.

Impact on the Championship
With his feature race win today, Richard Verschoor re-takes the lead in the drivers championship by just six points over Dunne who limits the damage with second place.
Whilst the fight for the title appears to be a two horse race at the moment, there’s still plenty of drivers in contention, with Lindblad, Browning, Fornaroli and Crawford all within 35 points of Verschoor. With 39 points available each weekend and another seven rounds still to go, this championship battle is far from over.
In the team standings Campos maintain their lead with 144 points to their name, as MP Motorsport move into second with 126 points, ahead of Hitech in third with 111.
