Alpine junior Gabriele Mini was handed a three place grid penalty, for both races, after impeding Jak Crawford during today’s F2 qualifying session.
It demoes him from what would have been pole position for the feature race on Sunday, which has now been inherited by former Alpine junior Victor Martins.

Mini already has some F2 experience under his belt, having filled in for Oliver Bearman at Baku last year, where he finished on the podium in his first race!
After a difficult season last year, French driver Victor Martins will start the first feature race of the year from pole position, with Dutchman Richard Verschoor, now the most experienced driver on the F2 gird, alongside him on the front row.
Redbull prospect Arvid Lindblad could only manage 16th, whilst reigning Formula 3 champion Leonardo Fornaroli qualified 10th, earning him the reverse grid pole for tomorrows sprint race.

Other news
The FIA has scheduled a 15 minute shakedown ahead of tomorrow mornings sprint race, due to power cuts which affected several cars during todays running.
It’s hoped that this shakedown will allow teams and the FIA to understand the route of these problems and find a fix.
If they don’t, then it could seriously harm the reputation of the championship as a spec series, especially after the Mecachrome engine fiasco last year.
