Prema Racing are preparing for their first season in IndyCar, America’s top level of single seater racing.

Today marked their first step in this journey, after they revealed their car for this year on their YouTube channel.

Prema are already a major player in international motorsports, competing in various championships such as Formula 2, Formula 3 and F1 Academy, and have helped many F1 drivers on their way up the single-seater ladder, with Oliver Bearman and Kimi Antionelli being some recent examples.

Their two IndyCar drivers for 2025 are Callum Ilott and Robert Shwartzman, both of whom raced for the team on their way up the single-seater ladder.

Ilott already has experience in IndyCar, having driven for Juncos Hollinger and Arrow McLaren in recent years, however his teammate is new to the series and says he’ll “have to be very quick at learning”.

“I believe if we prepare well and work as a team anything is possible, I want to believe we can straight away show good results” said Shwartzman.

Team boss Rene Rosin said “we arrive to cover everything in single-seater from karting to the door of Formula 1, then the next step was quite natural – to be in one of the most competitive and important championship worldwide”

They also announced former F1 driver Romain Grosjean as their reserve driver.

Rosin went on to say that “it’s the only championship where you can race in oval, street course, road course, and it’s a challenge that will bring us to another level, to a global level”.
