The Argentinian driver took his maiden F2 win in today’s F2 sprint race amid a stewards investigation for a first lap incident

Race Start
Hitech driver Paul Aron made a lightning start from P3, passing Colapinto and teammate Cordeel to take the lead into turn one. Behind him however, chaos ensued as contact between Roman Stanek and Isack Hadjar led to several other incidents.
This contact send Hadjar into a spin, as he collided with Joshua Durksen and Enzo Fittipaldi. Further back Dennis Hauger collided with Stanek while trying to take avoiding action.

Mid Race
Racing resumed on lap 6 as Aron extended the gap over his teammate, the Belgian driver clearly struggling as he went wide at turn 17 allowing Colapinto to take 2nd on lap 7.
After being stuck behind him for most of the race, Maloney managed to get pass Cordeel on lap 22 to take a spot on the podium, while Colapinto was now within DRS range of race leader Aron.

Final Lap
On the last lap of the race Colapinto made the move on Aron, going around the outside to take the lead on the last lap.
While Aron managed to reduce the points deficit to Maloney by finishing 2nd, he was visibly frustrated to have lead every lap only to miss out on a maiden F2 win on the final lap, as he left the podium early.
